RSI Refines its Mission, Launches New Logo, Theme-line, and Web Site
Washington, DC – 9-30-09
The Railway Supply Institute has launched a new logo, theme-line, and web site to mark the organization's new focus on supporting, connecting, and advocating for its more than 250 member companies.
The membership survey, logo, theme-line, and web site are all the work of the RSI's agency, Smith Marketing Services (SMS), of Ithaca, NY.
"SMS surveyed our membership and found that there are three core functions for our organization," Tom Simpson, RSI executive director said. "Rail suppliers want us to support them through industry committees and workshops, to connect them to their railroad and industry customers, and to advocate on their behalf at the state and federal levels during the legislative and regulatory process."
"Our new logo represents this three-fold mission and gives the new web site a visual theme to work from," Simpson said. The new RSI website further supports the refined mission of the RSI by putting more valuable functions up front and making navigation clearer. It also provides the foundation for advanced grass-roots and membership functions to be added in the coming year.
The RSI's launched the organization's new look at their annual conference in Chicago, a mixed session of technical presentations, exhibitions, and networking events. The show this year focused on building a cost-effective, customer-intimate environment for exhibitors and a better experience for attendees, Simpson said.
SMS is a consultancy providing market research, advertising, public relations, interactive media, and sales promotions to railroad suppliers and organizations, as well as tourism, banking, and manufacturing companies.
